Dogs In need of a good home :)

There are hundreds of little angels waiting to be adopted and find their forever home. One of the many amazing animal rescues is Grateful Dog Rescue in San Francisco. They always attend the San Francisco Chihuahua meetup and showcase some of their available dogs. We were able to meet one little angel named Luigi;

What can you say about a dog with a face like this? Meet Luigi, a 7+ year old chinese crested mix. Luigi came to Grateful Dogs Rescue from a shelter in northern California. He was originally seized as one of seventy dogs taken from a puppy mill bust in Lake County. Luigi was in deplorable condition, his skin, his teeth - everything but his spirit. Despite the bowed legs and funny face, his sweet and gentle disposition makes him a winner.

Luigi was recently neutered, he had twelve teeth left, eleven fell out during the dental and the last one needed pulling (he still has a great appetite). He is on a few meds for his skin which we expect to clear up and his wispy white hair to cover most of his body. Luigi is gentle and quiet. When you hold him, he looks at you adoringly. He appreciates any and all affection that he receives. He walks well on leash, rides well in the car and in my dog stroller. He is looking for a fairly quiet forever home, he is good with other dogs his own size (10 lbs.), as well as cats. We are working on his house training. He has learned to go upstairs but is still a little fearful going down. Would do well in a home with children 12 and up. Yes, we know he could be a contestant in the ugly dog contest, but his heart is so beautiful.

  1. Oh he is adorable! My owner's daughter lives in SF and I am forwarding this to her! She could use a dog to take on walks with her! Thank you!
